Patch Release 3.0.3
We are happy to announce the third patch release in the 3.0 series of Allpix Squared, version 3.0.3. This release contains 58 commits over the previous patch version 3.0.2 and is entirely dedicated to updating our build roster and supported operating systems. This adds a version compatible with LXPLUS nodes running RHEL 9. The release is available as Docker image, CVMFS installation and source code from the repository.
The following changes have been made:
- We have switched to AlmaLinux 9 for our primary build target.
- The build for AlmaLinux 9 also supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9 since the two distributions are binary-compatible. RHEL 9 is the new default operating system for LXPLUS login notes, our corresponding builds are marked as
el9. - We have updated our compiler and linting tools to LLVM 16 and GCC 12.
- All CVMFS builds are carried out against LCG 104 with Geant4 11.1.2 and ROOT 6.28/04 and produce consistent simulations with the previous version 3.0.2.
